Dear all,
Haiku... A wonderful word given to world by japanese. Haiku happen wherever there are people who are in touch with the world of their senses, and with their own feeling response to it.

Look at these haikus by four Masters:
clouds occasionally
make a fellow relax
moon-viewing - MATSUO BASHO

A thief
vanishes over the rooftops
night chill! - YOSA BUSON

The woman
leads into the mist-
low tide beach -KOBAYASHI ISSA

Summer river...
there's a bridge, but the horse
goes through water -MASAOKA SHIKI

These three poets lived in 17th, 18th and 19th centuries respectively. They lefet number of disciples. And the new generation always continued to reinvent haiku. Today haiku is all over the world. Many great poets have a few wonderful moments with haiku. In Telugu, we can proudly say, we have Ismail who wrote some great haikus. He understood the very spirit of the literary form inspired many.
